How is your company contributing to the net-zero transition in the chemical value chain?
We support our customers’ net-zero transition by offering advisory and digital solutions that foster a sustainable digital business environment. Specifically, for the chemical value chain, we’ve developed the “PCF Platform” software to automatically calculate the Product Carbon Footprints (PCF) of all customer products. This platform meets the unique requirements of the chemical industry and complies with ISO standards, the GHG Protocol, and industry-specific regulations.
Additionally, we are expanding into the pharmaceutical market: the PCF Platform will be tailored to the specific requirements of the pharmaceutical value chain and aligned with applicable regulations. We will progressively ensure PAS 2090 compliance to enable reliable, transparent, and regulatory-compliant calculation and reporting of product carbon footprints across the pharmaceutical industry.
Our partnership with Carbon Minds is built on a strong foundation from our Scaler Program and takes transparency in the chemical industry to the next level. By combining the Atos PCF Platform for automated PCF calculation with Carbon Minds’ high-quality emissions data, we provide companies with a reliable basis for sustainable decision-making—going beyond mere compliance.

What makes your solution unique?
Our solution is uniquely tailored for the chemical industry, developed in collaboration with major players in the field. It features a predefined allocation rule that ensures consistent emission allocation across product portfolios, even in multi-output scenarios. This rule also supports transparent PCF calculations for products with an “internal supply chain,” – ideal for companies producing intermediates.
The platform can handle emission data from both secondary databases and primary data from raw material suppliers, as well as Scope 1 and 2 emissions from customer systems. It supports manual and automated data loads via REST APIs, including mass exports and product reports for end customers.
The PCF Platform is an all-in-one solution designed for large-scale PCF calculations, meeting market demands for precise, verifiable, and audited PCF scores in the chemical industry. It also allows companies to run projections and answer “what-if” scenarios directly within the application.

Our collaboration with Carbon Minds enhances the precision of PCF calculations by providing access to the most comprehensive CO₂ emission database for chemical products. While the ultimate goal is to use primary data from suppliers, this partnership allows our customers to rely on the most valid alternative data available, ensuring their PCF calculations are as accurate as possible.
